Build a starter kit of sixth grade school supplies and add to it as needed before the school year begins.
The sixth grade teachers at Marion Elementary will typically update their school supplies list on a yearly basis, we
try to update this list accordingly however we advise you to check with your child's sixth grade teacher and double check with the school, Marion Elementary, to see if there have been any changes to this year's sixth grade supply list.
A couple of things to keep in mind when ordering your sixth grade supplies, comsumable school supplies tend to run out long before the school year ends so take advantage of the back to school
offers and stock up on the basic supplies, your child's sixth grade teacher at Marion Elementary will thank you for that, and more importantly, your child's presence is the most important thing, the supplies are sixth to that and your teacher will
be more than understanding if you are unable to purchase all of the supplies on the list. Have a wonderful, safe and happy school year!
One of the most important pieces of information for you every school year is the Allen Isd District Academic Calendar. There, you will find your child's schedule for the entire school year including holidays, staff development days, half days, testing days, sixth and last day of school, etc. See the calendar for Allen Isd below.
I wanted to send you a brief update on planning for the 2020-2021 school year. Later this afternoon, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) Commissioner will host a conference call with Texas school superintendents to discuss safety measures, potential restrictions, and school funding for the upcoming school year.
Following this long-awaited guidance, AISD will be able to roll out plans for the fall semester. We will share this information with you during the week of June 29. The communication will contain information on health and safety measures and protocols. We also plan to share more information regarding school-day procedures such as transportation, lunch, and extracurricular activities.
I can share with you that AISD plans to offer families two options for the upcoming school year. Parents will be asked to choose between traditional face-to-face classroom learning or fully remote at-home learning. The remote option will include live teacher-led instruction and offline learning activities.
We know that our families have varying levels of comfort in sending their children back to school this fall, and we want to allow families to choose their personal preferences. Whichever option you choose, please know that our educators are excited to work with your children and support them in their learning journey.
I appreciate all of the parents who have shared their suggestions and concerns with me over the past month. Due to the number of messages coming in, please know that I may not be able to respond to each message, but be assured that I am reading everything that comes to my inbox.
I look forward to sharing more information with you next week.
